Hello, my name is
Birthday: Dec. 19th
Favorite Food: Almonds
Favorite Activity: Destroying toys
Habitat/Range: African Grey Parrots are found in equatorial regions of Africa. They prefer dense forests but are also found along forest edges, savannahs, and gallery forest.
Behavior: These parrots are omnivorous and eat a lot of palm fruits as well as flowers, tree bark, and insects. They typically forage on the ground where they are more hidden from predators such as falcons and hawks. These birds are expert imitators of many bird songs, and even of bats!
Breeding: African Grey Parrots form monogamous pairs and often breed in tree cavities, as do many other parrot species. Chicks are born altricial and are completely dependent on their parents for feeding and warmth. Young leave the nest after about 12 weeks.
Conservation: Listing: Endangered. Populations are declining due to the illegal pet trade and habitat loss.
