Habitat/Range: The green iguana (or simply known as the iguana) is found in North and South America from Mexico to Brazil and Paraguay in tropical forests.
Behavior: Iguanas are solitary creatures that travel both on the ground and in trees. In parts of their range, they are commonly referred to as “chicken of the trees” because of their tendency to forage on leaves in tree branches.
Breeding: Females lay 20-70 eggs per clutch that incubate for 10-15 weeks.
Conservation: Listing: Least concern.
